Use one accounting basis

Confirm treatment with your accountant. This tool does not decide GST credits, convert mixed figures or calculate tax. If commission is charged on a different amount, enter its correct base explicitly.

Event assumptions
Use the chosen accounting basis, before the organiser fee.
Average direct ingredient cost; do not include packaging twice.
Include containers, bags and other order consumables.
Enter the contract percentage. Use zero if none applies.
Enter the exact contract fee basis, adjusted to the same accounting basis. It may differ from order value.
Include any fixed organiser fee separately from commission.
Include preparation and pack-down. Use verified full employer costs.
Enter costs attributable to this event.
Include utilities, hire and other event-specific costs once.
Exclude setup and pack-down from customer service capacity.
Use tested capacity. Do not infer capacity from crowd size.

Method and limitations

Use current supplier invoices, payroll information and signed fee terms. Costs and fees vary by venue and agreement. Contribution is revenue remaining after the direct costs entered. It is not net profit, available cash or a tax calculation. Review wider overheads and capacity before committing.
